IN THE RECORD EXCHANGE GIFT SHOP: NEW SHIRTS FROM FAWN AND FOAL!

bronx+barter tshirt closeWe love local in The Record Exchange Gift Shop, and in the case of a collection of new shirts from Boise’s Fawn and Foal, the love was definitely at first sight.

Fawn and Foal’s new series of men’s and women’s shirts feature Bronx and Barter, two characters from “the makings of a book,” from which comes this excerpt:

But the little brother couldn’t fall asleep. He was poised in a stance to hop and he was determined to hop higher than he’d ever hopped before. He wondered if those long feet helped his new friend to push off the ground. “I know! I’ll stretch out my feet. That will surely help me jump higher.” So he tugged and tugged on his tiny paws. But they resisted. He tried everything he could think of. He overlapped his feet and pulled up, stretching the lower one. He wearily wiggled his foot into the tangled bushes and hung upside down. He tied string around his big toe and another around a branch, and pulled. But nothing he did changed the length of his foot. “Dang it,” he thought.

IN THE RECORD EXCHANGE GIFT SHOP: AMES BROS (PEARL JAM) T-SHIRTS!

The fresh selection of T-shirts in The Record Exchange Gift Shop just got a little fresher with the arrival of a dozen men’s and women’s tees from the Ames Bros.

Spawned from the high mountain crags and barren dust bowls of Montana, the Ames Bros (Coby Schultz and Barry Ament) are a two-man wrecking crew. Upon their mighty shoulders they carry with them scores of famous rock bands, hundreds of screen printed rock posters, snowboard companies, super bowl logos, and Rambo-esque survival tactics.

Since the day they opened their studio in 1994, the Ames Bros took off and never touched back down. Out of the gates their talents were recognized by rock greats Pearl Jam, a client they’ve shared many successes with, including Grammy nominations for their clever and artful packaging for Vitalogy and Yield. In the music industry, it’s common knowledge that Ames Bros helped turn the lifeless CD package into the unique collectible that its predecessor, the record jacket, was.

Already a permanent fixture in the history of art and design, they turn their efforts to the arena of making people look good. When the Ames Bros set out to do something, it’s top shelf. So, watch out! Their goal is simple: to fill your closets and drawers with only the finest of anything there is out there to offer. Next time you consider buying the best, think Ames Bros Quality Gear, the gear that grew with the Great Northwest.
