esti erin shirtsThere were several happy discoveries at Treefort, and for Erin and Esti, it was this shirt by Seattle company Cairo, which in addition to designing its own tees runs a vintage store, event space, gallery, silk screening studio and record label.

Along with the shirt seen above, The Record Exchange Gift Shop has stocked two additional Cairo designs in unisex sizes. Erin described the tees as a combination of Egyptian, metaphysical and psychedelic influences. Which is to say, they’re a perfect fit for the RX Gift Shop.

IN THE RECORD EXCHANGE GIFT SHOP: NEW SHIRTS FROM FAWN AND FOAL!

bronx+barter tshirt closeWe love local in The Record Exchange Gift Shop, and in the case of a collection of new shirts from Boise’s Fawn and Foal, the love was definitely at first sight.

Fawn and Foal’s new series of men’s and women’s shirts feature Bronx and Barter, two characters from “the makings of a book,” from which comes this excerpt:

But the little brother couldn’t fall asleep. He was poised in a stance to hop and he was determined to hop higher than he’d ever hopped before. He wondered if those long feet helped his new friend to push off the ground. “I know! I’ll stretch out my feet. That will surely help me jump higher.” So he tugged and tugged on his tiny paws. But they resisted. He tried everything he could think of. He overlapped his feet and pulled up, stretching the lower one. He wearily wiggled his foot into the tangled bushes and hung upside down. He tied string around his big toe and another around a branch, and pulled. But nothing he did changed the length of his foot. “Dang it,” he thought.
