WORKING FOR THE RECORD EXCHANGE

Interested in working at The Record Exchange? We gladly accept resumes for clerk and barista positions on an ongoing basis.

The Record Exchange staff is comprised of a mix of full- and part-time employees. We hire based on our scheduling needs when a position opens up. We rarely advertise for an open position, so we recommend interested parties place a resume on file with us for future consideration.

A part-time position may evolve into a full-time position, and often with added responsibilities. In either case, we hire with the long-term in mind, looking for candidates who want to make meaningful contributions to an independent business while seizing opportunities for professional and personal growth.

Ideal candidates possess a strong work ethic, demonstrated interpersonal skills and a willingness to grow and learn in a fun, fast-paced environment. We are a small, tight-knit, family-like staff, and our employees are expected to take a cooperative, team-first approach to their position. Retail, customer service and/or barista experience is a huge plus, as is a musical background, either as a performer or industry professional or both. A passion for and deep knowledge of recorded music across all eras and genres is a must.

The Record Exchange is an inclusive space, and we hire with our core values in mind.

Starting wages are determined by position and experience. We offer a generous employee discount and optional Simple IRA retirement plan with employer match.

Resumes with cover letter from clerk (music side) candidates may be submitted in person to General Manager John O’Neil during regular business hours.

Resumes with cover letter from barista (cafe side) candidates may be submitted in person to Gift Shop Manager Catherine Merrick during regular business hours.

We do not have a paper or online application. We only accept resumes, and only in person. If you email your resume, you will still be asked to submit it in person, and we will note that you did not follow instructions (yes, this is a test).
