ThinkIndie recently launched a new metal sale program, which will give you great deals on great new metal bands on a regular basis. This week, get Daniel Lioneye‘s Vol. II for the devilish price of $6.66!

IT’S OUR ARCADE FIRE DVD WINNER!

Congrats to Christiauna Thorne, winner of the Arcade Fire DVD!

Okay, so you didn’t win the DVD — don’t let it ruin your day. If you haven’t yet purchased Arcade Fire’s excellent new album The Suburbs, come into The Record Exchange today, pick it up on CD for the $9.99 Right Price ($21.99 for vinyl) and get entered to win our Arcade Fire prize pack.

Full details on the prize pack can be found HERE.

NEW RELEASE OF THE WEEK: ARCADE FIRE TACKLES THE SUBURBIA LIFE

Even on a cursory listen, a water-testing foray into its 16 tracks, it’s immediately apparent that this Arcade Fire album is unlike either that came before it. While Funeral and Neon Bible were great sets, their strengths laid primarily in a handful of stand-out selections. The Suburbs appears to have been conceived as a whole in a manner considerably more studied than the band’s previous attempts. Its sequencing is perfect. It’s a convergent collection, too, the opening title-track reprised come the record’s quiet climax, comprising an intro to its earlier, fuller version. Put The Suburbs on repeat and days could pass before the urge to change the record takes hold.
