There are so many ideas to design and only one Munny. So instead of doing a permanent design, I decided this would be a good way to make a Munny and still be able to change it at whim.

TITLE:
Second Chance at Enlightenment
MATERIALS:
EL Wire, fabric, fabric flowers, metal brads, resin face, faux pearls
ARTIST STATEMENT:
This Munny was inspired and devised around the face of a broken Buddha light. When it fell, the face broke intact. Another source of inspiration were the Buddhas that were destroyed by the Taliban in Afghanistan. I wanted to show that there remains an enduring idea of life despite any destruction that may occur intentionally or accidentally.
The Buddhist Wheel carved in the back of the head, allowing the light to shine through the vinyl, was done to illustrate the circle of life and reincarnation/recycling.
Additionally, I just wanted it to look nice and also be able to be a light again (see below) — hence the second chance at enlightenment!
