ABOUT THE ARTIST

Erin Cunningham lives in Boise. She is also known as Ernie Canningclams. Her friends call her Clams, and some call her Big Ern. She is a founding member of Black Hunger Studios. She lives with her wiener dog Tito, who she affectionately calls Sir Poos A Lot. One day she will disappear in a flurry of mist. Until then, she is an artist.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Karen Bubb is Public Arts Manager for the Boise City Department of Arts & History and the downtown redevelopment agency. She is also an Affiliate for Boise State University’s (BSU) Centre for Creativity and Innovation in the College of Business and Economics. She has a Masters in Public Administration and Graduate Certificate for Regional and Community Planning from BSU and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Oregon. Bubb works in many mediums, including stained glass, encaustic painting, ceramics, printmaking and collage. Her art is represented in numerous private collections and the permanent collection of the Boise Art Museum.

Artist Statement: Aurora is the Roman goddess of sunrise and is also used as the equivalent of the dawn. This gilded, slyly smiling creature greets friends and foes with her bright, shiny countenance, ready to meet whatever comes at her.

Misty Benson loves all things sweetly spooky, spitefully cute, and most of all, morbidly adorable! She has a penchant for shiny things and stuffed animals that frown much like her newest creation – the Morbidly Adorable Octo-MUNNY! With one tentacled arm she adds pretty coral to her hair while she clutches her beloved one-eyed bear with the other! Remember, here at Morbidly Adorable creations, life leaves us feeling a little haunted but always enchanted. This is a place where beauty borders on strange and the strange is beautiful. Take my hand. Come in and play. Just make sure you leave all rational thoughts at the door.
