Holy cow, just when you thought we were done giving away Warped Tour goodies, we have one more last-minute contest: a giveaway for an electric guitar, pair of tickets and meet-and-greet with a Warped Tour band at Friday’s concert!

We don’t have the band confirmed as of yet, but some pretty big names are being thrown out there … like Anti-Flag and Dillinger Escape Plan. Whichever band it ends up being, rest assured it won’t be a lame, playing-Xbox-with-a-roadie sort of thing — you’ll get to meet a Warped Tour band, shake their hands, get autographs and revel in fan-boy geekery.

To enter, all you gotta do is send an email with the subject “Warped guitar contest” HERE by noon, Thursday, Aug. 12. The winner will be drawn at random and notified Thursday afternoon. Please include a daytime phone number so we can call you.

The Record Exchange, Boise Rock School and TAG present the Warped Tour Drum Competition at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at The Record Exchange, 1105 W. Idaho St. in downtown Boise. As always, this Record Exchange event is free and all ages.

Each drummer will have one minute to show his or her chops on a five-piece drum kit (with crash and ride) provided by our friends at Boise Rock School. Contestants will perform solo without musical accompaniment.

The competition is open to drummers of all ages (kids and adults) and limited to the first 30 people to sign up.

PRIZES
Grand Prize: Warped Tour drum kit, pair of tickets to the show, backstage lesson with Warped Tour drummer of winner’s choice, CDs.
First Runner Up: Warped Tour cymbals, tickets to the show, CDs.
Second Runner Up: Warped Tour drumsticks, tickets to the show, CDs.
Third Runner Up: Warped Tour tickets, CDs.

To enter, visit The Record Exchange prior to the competition and sign up at the front counter. We will accept entries at the competition if the 30 slots have not been filled prior to 6:30 p.m. Monday. All contestants will receive a free CD.

The audience will determine the winners by ballot vote. We’ll have contests and giveaways for the audience, too, and everyone can purchase their Warped Tour tickets at The Record Exchange during the competition!
