BOB MARLEY AND OTHER RECORD EXCHANGE CD RECOMENDATIONS

Bob Marley fans can experience another offering in the form of an official release of his historic performance on the 23rd of September 1980, at the Stanley Theater, Pittsburgh, PA. What also makes it a historical recording? This is Bob’s last live recording and last concert. This was right after the “Uprising European Tour,” and performances at the Madison Square Gardens in NY.

This new release is a double CD and includes live performances of classics like “Jamming,” “No Woman No Cry,” and “Positive Vibration,” to mention a few. In fact, the whole album is loaded with classics and an anointed performance.

Bob’s music has always conveyed a message of hope, unity and love. It has brought countless people together as it did that night 30 years ago in Pittsburgh. To hear that music today and to be able to share it with a new generation shows that Bob is as relevant today as he was 30 years ago,” says Rita Marley.

AMOS LEE AND OTHER NEW CD RECORD EXCHANGE RECOMMENDATIONS

BUY THE CD HERE

Mission Bell is Amos Lee’s fourth album for EMI’s Blue Note Records, and his richest and most fully formed album to date. Mission Bell, which was produced by Joey Burns of the acclaimed band Calexico, displays both range and cohesion, an array of emotions unified by Lee’s eclectic taste and distinctive vocals. With a remarkable set of guests–including Lucinda Williams, Willie Nelson, Sam Beam (Iron & Wine), Priscilla Ahn, Pieta Brown, and James Gadson–and the musical backing of Calexico, the album marks the arrival of Amos Lee as a mature artist who continues to explore his musical and thematic interests.

“There’s a real searching element to a lot of these songs,” says Lee, who has evolved into one of the most important and prolific songwriters of our time, a point that’s driven home by the 12 new originals on Mission Bell, and the presence of legends such as Williams and Nelson, who were eager to interpret Lee’s songs.
