$20 NIGHT OUT CONCERT AT HUMPIN’ HANNAHS KICKS OFF 20X20 LOCAL LOYALTY CARD PROGRAM DEC. 1!

The Record Exchange is proud to be part of the inaugural 20X20 Local Loyalty Card program, and we’re inviting you to join us for the $20 Night Out kickoff concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Humpin’ Hannahs (621 W. Main St., Boise).

The $20 Night Out at Humpin’ Hannahs is a 20X20 event showcasing The Power of 20! Live music will be provided by SFM – Steve Fulton Music and Dan Costello and the Truck Stop Trio, and the evening will be emceed by Rocci Johnson.

The $20 admission includes two well drinks or domestic bottled beers (plus other great drinks specials all night), pasta from Flatbread Community Oven, fresh bread from Zeppole Baking Co., and snacks from City Peanut Shop. Learn about the new 20X20 Local Loyalty Card (available for $20 at The Record Exchange and other locations beginning Black Friday) and other Sustainable Community Connections initiatives to promote awareness of local, independently owned and operated businesses. Your $20 supports SCC’s programs, including Think Boise First, Think Nampa First and the 20×20 Decade Campaign!

What’s the power of 20? By the year 2020, Sustainable Community Connections aims to shift 20% of the purchasing decisions, behaviors and actions in the Treasure Valley to locally-owned, independently operated businesses. Erica Sparlin Dryden is a photographer, designer and artist. For 20 years, capturing compelling images with a camera has been her calling. Bringing together her other interests into a cohesive career has been her destiny.

Born in Boulder, Colorado, Erica loves to breathe in what life is about. For her, that means art, music, nature, and culture. Erica experienced living in Colorado and New England before moving to Boise. Erica spends her time doing what she loves: dancing, enjoying live music, taking photographs, drawing, painting, design, traveling, exercise and staying connected with family and friends. She is grateful every day for her handsome and amazing husband and their daughter who makes them laugh daily. Erin Cunningham lives in Boise. She is also known as Ernie Canningclams. Her friends call her Clams, and some call her Big Ern. She is a founding member of Black Hunger Studios. She lives with her wiener dog Tito, who she affectionately calls Sir Poos A Lot. One day she will disappear in a flurry of mist. Until then, she is an artist.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Karen Bubb is Public Arts Manager for the Boise City Department of Arts & History and the downtown redevelopment agency. She is also an Affiliate for Boise State University’s (BSU) Centre for Creativity and Innovation in the College of Business and Economics. She has a Masters in Public Administration and Graduate Certificate for Regional and Community Planning from BSU and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Oregon. Bubb works in many mediums, including stained glass, encaustic painting, ceramics, printmaking and collage. Her art is represented in numerous private collections and the permanent collection of the Boise Art Museum.

Artist Statement: Aurora is the Roman goddess of sunrise and is also used as the equivalent of the dawn. This gilded, slyly smiling creature greets friends and foes with her bright, shiny countenance, ready to meet whatever comes at her.

Misty Benson loves all things sweetly spooky, spitefully cute, and most of all, morbidly adorable! She has a penchant for shiny things and stuffed animals that frown much like her newest creation – the Morbidly Adorable Octo-MUNNY! With one tentacled arm she adds pretty coral to her hair while she clutches her beloved one-eyed bear with the other! Remember, here at Morbidly Adorable creations, life leaves us feeling a little haunted but always enchanted. This is a place where beauty borders on strange and the strange is beautiful.
