Congratulations to Evan Hathaway, winner of our Of Montreal Prize Pack! The lad took away a few slabs of Of Montreal vinyl and some other cool Kevin Barnes-related stuff courtesy of our friends at Polyvinyl Records. How did Evan do it? He bought Of Montreal’s latest platter False Priest at The Record Exchange instead of selling his soul to corporate America.
Evan tells us he’s getting married in a few days. Dude, if you and your new wife don’t have your first dance to “The Past is a Grotesque Animal” — all 11 minutes and 53 seconds of it — we’re taking back the prize pack.

PEGGY SAYS GOODBYE – BUT SHE WON’T BE A STRANGER (WE WON’T LET HER)
It is with great sadness that we announce the departure of longtime Record Exchange staffer Peggy Ashton-Parker.
Peggy, a staff and customer favorite, is moving to Garden Valley with her husband Chris. Her last day was Saturday. Cake was eaten. Hugs were shared. Tears were shed.
Peggy has worked at several record stores throughout her adult life and has an unending well of crazy stories to back it up. We will miss her dearly — not only for her great rapport with customers, but for the general good cheer, music knowledge and experience she brought to the store.
That said, Peggy promises not to be a stranger, and we’re holding her to it. You can expect to see her surface from time to time at big events like Record Store Day, and whenever she comes back, we will be sure to let her friends and customers know.
Thank you Peggy for everything you’ve done for The Record Exchange. We lift our glasses to you!
