NEW RECORD STORE DAY DATE AND OUR COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS

Dear Record Exchange customers,

Record Store Day announced today that the annual global event was moved to Saturday, June 20, 2020 due to public health concerns. The Record Exchange still plans on participating and making it a weekend-long party in June, and now we can welcome summer as part of the festivities. Stay tuned for updates and event announcements.

As previously announced, Treefort Music Fest has been moved to Sept. 23-27. We had daily in-store events planned during the festival that are no longer taking place. We were really excited about our Treefort in-stores and hope the same artists will be able to play our stage in September. We’re currently working with their management teams to reschedule the events during the festival. As with Record Store Day, we will keep you updated and announce events closer to the festival. 

Some of you have asked how you can help the Treefort staff in the months leading up to the festival. A Fan Fund has been set up to support their hard-working team. Donate to it here.

To ensure your health, The Record Exchange has been monitoring COVID-19 (coronavirus) updates for the past few weeks and taking all precautions recommended by health officials and government agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the State of Idaho and City of Boise. According to the most recent information from the CDC, for most people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low.

Nonetheless, we are aggressively cleaning, disinfecting and wiping down surfaces, paying particular attention to our espresso bar, food/beverage coolers and public/private restrooms. Staff members have been instructed to vigilantly wash their hands and stay home if they are sick. Bottles of antibacterial hand sanitizer have been placed at all counters for our customers and behind counters and in break rooms for our staff. We remain open with our regular business hours as we continue to monitor the spread of the virus.

We are conscious of our customers’ shift in social patterns and understand that some of you are limiting your time in public. If you still want to support The Record Exchange and shop for music, we have an online store featuring our new vinyl and new/used CD inventory, as well as audio samples, music videos and augmented reality content. We ship anywhere in the world and offer free in-store pickup. There are two ways to access the shop: shop.therecordexchange.com and via the free Record Exchange app, which you can download via the app store on your phone (direct link here).
