Kali Malone – The Sacrificial Code. Two hours of mournful organ drones to soundtrack your summer bbq.
Prince – Originals. Prince performing Prince. That sounds good, right?
Cate Le Bon – Reward. Her sharp, off-kilter songwriting distilled into these 10 disarming songs.
woods + segal – Hiding Places. Despondent and desolate rap music to soundtrack your second summer bbq.
Rabit – The Dope Show. LANA IM SO HIGH: The name of the second track and also the best descriptor of this disorienting mixtape.
Maria Somerville – All My People. Debut album from this Irish songwriter who sounds like she’s singing to you from the ocean floor.
Beth Gibbons – Henyrk Gorecki: Symphony No. 3. The voice of Portishead with an aching performance of this somber, devastating symphony about loss during wartime. Perfect for your third bbq.
