EVEREST LIVE AT THE RECORD EXCHANGE ON RECORD STORE DAY!

The Record Exchange is proud to present Everest live on Record Store Day at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17. As always, this Record Exchange in-store performance is free and all ages.

If you’re not yet hip to the buzzworthy, about-to-break-big Everest (everestband.com), use the time leading up to Record Store Day to give yourself a quick primer. Watch a video about Everest’s forthcoming album, On Approach (May 11), HERE. You can also hear the band perform live on The River at 5 p.m. Friday, April 16. The Record Exchange will have a new Everest 7-inch for sale on Record Store Day featuring lead single “Let Go” backed with previously unreleased “By The Morning.” The Record Exchange also will be taking pre-orders for On Approach on Record Store Day.

Championed by Neil Young, with whom the band has toured, and garnering favorable comparisons to My Morning Jacket and Wilco, Everest recently returned from an action-packed trip to SXSW with news: their bold sophomore LP, On Approach, will receive a new release date of May 11. Originally slated for release on Vapor Records, it will now arrive via Warner Brothers/Vapor Records.

Deemed “Dylanesque punk” by USA Today, Everest is primed for their first tour in support of their latest release and will join Minus The Bear beginning April 19 in Spokane. Following this run, the band will make an appearance at this year’s Bonnaroo festival June 13, then visit KCRW on June 16 for a live “Morning Becomes Eclectic” session.

Everest’s impassioned new album recalls the era of vinyl, when the story starts at track one and doesn’t end until the very last note wanes. It’s not a vintage sound, but a significant statement of a new era of American rock ‘n’ roll, seeped in rustic grooves, infectious melodies and timelessness.

Borrowing from their home base surroundings, California makes an imprint on their sonic landscape, much like how Motown oozed Detroit and Stax screamed Memphis, the Golden State shines through unmistakably.
