Roxy Music – Live 2LP

Originally released in 2003 on CD, this was Roxy Music’s reunion and world tour of their 30th anniversary of the band and represents the entire set list from those concerts. Limited edition nonmetallic gold colored vinyl.

Hawkwind – Space Ritual 180-gram 2LP

Recorded live in December 1972 and released the following year, Space Ritual is an excellent document of Hawkwind’s classic lineup, underscoring the group’s status as space rock pioneers. Incorporating most of Doremi Fasol Latido, the show for the Space Ritual tour was conceived as a space rock opera, its blend of sci-fi electronics, mesmerizing psy-fi grooves, and heavy, earthbound jamming punctuated with spoken word interludes from astral poet Bob Calvert. Although his intergalactic musings date the album, coming across now as camp futurism, they still provide fitting atmospheric preambles to Hawkwind’s astounding, mind-warping sounds.

Jethro Tull – Living in the Past 2LP

Living in the Past is a double album quasi-compilation collection by Jethro Tull, which contains album tracks, out-takes, the “Life Is a Long Song” EP, and all of their singles except for “Aeroplane”, “Sunshine Day”, “One for John Gee”, “17” and the original United Kingdom version of “Teacher” (the United States single version was included instead).

Morrissey – Bona Drag 2LP

Bona Drag is a compilation album by Morrissey originally released October 1990. The album features an array of Morrissey’s most popular songs from his early solo career, most of which had not been released on any previous album. The album name meaning nice outfit is an example of the subculture slang Polari explored further on the album’s first track “Piccadilly Palare”. Bona Drag will be available on 180gm 2-LP.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Greatest Hits

The ultimate collection of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ hits, reissued on limited edition grey marbled vinyl.

Painting With is the 11th full length Animal Collective album. For fifteen years they have been rewriting the musical map, their line-up and aesthetic shifting with each astonishing release as they continue their pursuit of a new psychedelia. The result: Painting With. Warm and personal, dizzying and high definition, concerned with art and the human experience, and the meeting of both – creating something elemental, joyous, and unmistakably Animal Collective.

There are three different album covers, one for each member in the band – Avey Tare, Geologist, and Panda Bear. Each copy will include a sticker sheet with the album title printed in a variety of languages, so you can sticker the album with the language(s) you prefer.

The Record Exchange is celebrating the release of The 1975‘s new album I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It with a pre-release listening party on Friday, Feb. 19.

We’re gonna spin the album and take preorders for the CD and vinyl (available Friday, Feb. 26) and we have a limited quantity of cassette singles free with preorders!

The Manchester-bred band has built its reputation here and overseas on the strength of its rollicking live shows as well as its self-titled 2013 debut album, which entered the UK album chart at No. 1. It has done well over half a million in sales and stream album equivalents, fueled by the success of the gold-certified single “Chocolate.” October 2015’s “Love Me” marked the first single to be released from The 1975’s upcoming new album.

The Record Exchange is celebrating the release of Wynonna and the Big Noise‘s new self-titled album, which features a stellar lineup of guest stars (Jason Isbell, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks), with an all-day listening party on New Release Friday, Feb. 12.

We’re gonna spin Wynonna and the Big Noise (available for purchase on CD and vinyl) on real, hold-it-in-your-hand vinyl multiple titles throughout the day, and you can enter to win an ultra-rare autographed copy of the vinyl!

Wynonna and her band the Big Noise, led by her husband, producer/drummer Cactus Moser, recorded the majority of the album in the sanctity of their home studio located on the family farm in Tennessee. Wynonna has described the new album as “vintage yet modern” and a “return to the well.” It’s a rootsy work encompassing country, Americana, blues, soul and rock.

The process of recording Wynonna and the Big Noise with her band set her free artistically. “Like a garage band we all get in a room, basically knee to knee in a circle, and we jam until it feels amazing,” Wynonna shares. “By the time we push record we are already jacked up because we have practiced and practiced until we know we are rocking. The end result is even better than when we started out because we’re free to just play and enjoy ourselves.” She adds: “I have stripped myself of all the expectations of worrying about fitting into any format and just picked songs I love. This album is my favorite thing I’ve done so far.”

Cactus elaborates about the recording of the album. “It creates more energy, more excitement and definitely a more unique sound to have our actual band play. When you have session players you just play differently. There’s less emotional input, less freedom! These guys are with us 365 days a year and that was my goal…to have an actual living breathing band make a record, not just people who come in for the week and then are gone. Much better feel, much better vibe. Amen.”
