INTRODUCING THE RECORD EXCHANGE BLUE AND ORANGE FOOTBALL SALE!

August 25, 2010 - DVD and Blu Ray , On Sale , The Record Exchange Blog - by - No Comments

Like football? So do we. And with a new season of gridiron action right around the corner, we’re pleased to announce the new Record Exchange Blue and Orange Sale.

This fall, all of our used CDs, DVDs and vinyl LPs* will be on sale the day after a Boise State football victory.

The percentage we discount our used products the day after the game will be equal to the number of points the Broncos win by the day before. For example, if they win by 30 points, you get 30% off your total used purchase. (Maximum discount is 40%. If the Broncos, gasp, actually lose, no discount will be offered that week.)

Check your email after each game, as we will deliver a special message with the next day’s discount straight to your inbox. If you haven’t signed up to receive Record Exchange emails, you can register HERE.

Go Broncos!

* Excludes used CDs, DVDs and vinyl LPs over $40.

THE VINYL WORD: MENOMENA’S FOURTH FULL-LENGTH ALBUM OUT ON WAX PLUS A LIMITED EDITION GATEFOLD DOUBLE 7″

July 27, 2010 - The Record Exchange Blog , The Vinyl Word - by - No Comments

With Mines, the Portland experimental rock trio Menomena‘s fourth full-length release continues where they started on their epic debut I am the Blame Fun Monster and builds upon it ingenious third album, Friend and Foe. The album warms up with the slow tempo song “Queen Black Acid,” before making way for more experimental tracks like “Taos,” a garage-rock number full of frolicking vibes, and the heavy and complex mix of guitar riffs and drum beats in “Bote.” Menomena also wonderfully mixes and matches these energetic, fast-paced numbers with mellow, calm and content songs, like “Dirty Cartoons” and “Intil,” that will automatically grow on you. You will soon realize that despite its overdone complexity, Mines doesn’t stray far from the band’s usual formula yet still manages to be magical.

EXCLUSIVE: A Mines Double Seven Inch is also available  featuring alternate versions of two album songs, plus two exclusive b-sides on this limited-edition gatefold double 7″ (limited to 1000 numbered copies worldwide).
