The Record Exchange’s New Release Tuesday series continues on Aug. 14 with ReVoLtReVoLt‘s new album Latah Nights! The album will be featured during our weekly listening party at 7 p.m. (NOTE DIFFERENT TIME.) Enjoy free Pie Hole pizza while you listen to Latah Nights and enter to win our New Release Tuesday raffle prize! As a bonus, the band will be here hanging out with us while we spin the new record!
Latah Nights is Boise-based ReVoLtReVoLt‘s sophomore record on Spark and Shine. The much-anticipated follow up to their debut Chordata, Latah Nights was recorded in 2011 with legendary producer Conrad Uno (Young Fresh Fellows, Mudhoney, Presidents of USA) at his EGG Studios in Seattle.
Latah Nights follows in the vein of noise-soaked pop and driving rhythms established by Chordata, but takes the band into more complex sonic dimensions. Returning to the studio with Conrad Uno afforded the band a chance to use their previous work and road experience as a starting point to blaze new territory, drawing the listener into a more evolved journey of the musical spectrum, and exploring new depths of lyrical subtlety, from hook driven noise-pop gems (“It Echoes On”) to dark meditations on life and mortality (“Hell Has its Roads”). The release of Latah Nights finds ReVoLtReVoLt as a band at the height of their craft, preparing to head back out on the road in support of a new record, and aimed at an ever-expanding horizon of artistic discovery.
To highlight the new release, ReVoLtReVoLt has lined up a series of events in Boise, starting off with the listening party at The Record Exchange where fans and music lovers will have the opportunity to listen to the new tunes in a fun, intimate setting while mixing and mingling with the ReVoLtReVoLt members. This will be
followed by an all-ages concert at The Crux on Aug. 17 (6 p.m.), then on Aug. 18, a grand finale blowout at Neurolux for a 21 and up event starting at 7 p.m. ReVoLtReVoLt will be on tour throughout the United States in August and September with Built To Spill plus a run of solo dates. For a complete list of tour dates, visit the band’s website.
