The Record Exchange is honored to be one of 11 independent record stores across the country offering an exclusive one-night-only screening of the Aerosmith Rocks Donington 2014 film at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4.

The screening via the 55-inch HD digital screen platform of Xprnc Media (xprncmedia.com) celebrates the Sept. 4 release of Aerosmith Rocks Donington 2014, available in multiple formats: DVD, Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, Blu-ray/2CD and DVD/3LP.

Aerosmith Rocks Donington 2014 is much more than just a great gig. It is a lasting document of the powerful and explosive bond that these five men – Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer – have made with each other and with fans of rock ‘n’ roll everywhere. The film captures Aerosmith headlining the massive Download Festival at Donington Park with all their attitude and talent-drenched beauty as they deliver a blistering set of their greatest hits. The Record Exchange is celebrating the release of Iron Maiden‘s new album The Book of Souls with a listening party at 6pm Thursday, Sept 3. The Book of Souls will available for purchase on CD, deluxe CD and vinyl Friday, Sept. 4, and we’ll have limited-edition lithographs and stickers free with preorders at the listening party!

We’ll also have some sweet Iron Maiden to raffle off at the event, including vinyl and CD prize packs!

The Book Of Souls is Iron Maiden’s 16th studio album and was recorded at Studio Guillaume Tell in Paris with longstanding producer Kevin Shirley. With 11 tracks and a total running time of 92 minutes, The Book Of Souls is Iron Maiden’s first ever double studio album and features the new single “Speed Of Light.”

CZARFACE – Ka-Bang! 10-inch color picture disc
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s CZARFACE & MF DOOM! Who better to team up with the boom-bap hero de jour CZARFACE but the super-villain himself … the masked man known as MF DOOM! “Ka-Bang!” accomplishes just that, and is taken from the bestselling Every Hero Needs A Villain, the sophomore album from CZARFACE, the collaborative stylings of Wu-Tang Clan’s Inspectah Deck and indy rap vets 7L & Esoteric. On it, the three MCs assemble for some clobberin’ time over a hypnotically sparse and bass heavy track from DJ 7L. With the move to a global Friday street date in July, Vinyl Tuesday was established to celebrate music in physical form and give record store customers access to early and exclusive releases. For artists, it’s a chance to showcase special releases on a special day and not get lost on the increasingly crowded Friday/weekend.

And Vinyl Tuesday is kicking off with a pair of exciting exclusives this week:

JOAN JETT – I LOVE ROCK AND ROLL

This is a double LP edition of the classic Jett release. It’s on EXCLUSIVE TO INDIES white vinyl, with the album folks know and love on the first disc and the album performed live in NYC in 1981 on the second disc.

HEALTH – DEATH MAGIC

This is a new release, and INDIES HAVE A THREE DAY EXCLUSIVE WINDOW ON THE VINYL. It’s been over half a decade since Health released a studio album, and Death Magic is a bold, albeit occasionally jarring, step forward, with the band finally embracing the pop impulses that seem to have always been lurking in their DNA.
