Today’s Record Exchange Secret Treefort In-store is …
Francisco the Man (playing at the Linen Building at 9 p.m. tonight) will perform at 5 p.m. TODAY at The Record Exchange, 1105 W. Idaho St. in Downtown Boise. As always, this Record Exchange in-store event is free and all ages — and you don’t need a Treefort pass to attend (but you should get one anyway and we have them for sale at the store).
ABOUT FRANCISCO THE MAN
It took roughly seven years for Scotty Cantino, Nestor Romero and Abdeel Ortega to arrive at Francisco The Man. Following a two-year hiatus beginning in 2008, the band relocated from Riverside to Los Angeles, CA, bringing along a new addition, guitarist Brock Woolsey.
Following two 7-inches on Small Plates Records, their debut LP, Loose Ends, was released in Fall 2014 on Fat Possum and gives its audience a more encompassing look at Francisco The Man. “I think the LP shows a broader, more realized, version of Francisco The Man,” Scotty Cantino explains. “You can’t do that with a single”. This broader, more realized version of Francisco that’s shown on Loose Ends is enveloped in a sound that blends garage rock, new wave, and shoegaze and gives listeners a fair shot at understanding just how loud this band is.
