FROM OUR FRIENDS AT WATERLOO RECORDS: IN MEMORY OF ESME B.

When you work at an independent record store, you find a family away from family. And our Record Exchange family was shocked and saddened to hear that our friends at Waterloo Records in Austin had lost a member of theirs, Esme B., who was murdered in the early hours of Jan. 1.

We didn’t know Esme personally, but after reading her life’s story — one full of love for music and her community — we felt like we did. And as Esme’s family, friends and coworkers at Waterloo mourn her loss and celebrate her life, we ask you to join us in helping her family by making a donation to her funeral fund, or to the Girls Rock Camp where she was a mentor to young female rockers.

To our friends at Waterloo Records and anyone else reading this whose life was touched by Esme, our thoughts are with you.
